Gallagher embraces full-scale watermelon madness in Melon Crazy, a 58-minute comedy special packed with visual gags, strange inventions, and the comedian’s signature wordplay. The performance celebrates what the packaging calls “melonabilia,” including giant watermelons, watermelon limps, and a three-piece watermelon suit.
Guest comic Bill Kirchenbauer joins the fun with impressions, but the main attraction is an especially messy Sledge-O-Matic demonstration. Released by Paramount Home Video in stereo, Melon Crazy captures the wonderfully excessive prop comedy that made Gallagher a cable-TV and home-video fixture during the 1980s.
